another blog inspiration

Look at me... two blogs in one day...
Y'all know my big blog inspiration is always lizmarieblog.com... but I have some others who inspire me daily as well... one of whom is Suzan from http://suzyq-vintagous.blogspot.com/  She is a crazy genius who does these huge projects that I am waaaaaaaaaay to scared to do... but she did a little thing that really stuck with me... she put up this clock decal.... that she got from Ikea... This particular decal is sold out... so I went to the place where you can get pretty much anything.. Amazon and got this one... I put it up no trouble.. easy peasy....

Look how cute!!!! Theres another piece, but it was too wide for the wall.. I may cut it, but for now, I'm happy... 

Watch this show.. Read this book...

Hey lovelies... where have I been??? hmm.... in my bed, at Goodwill, and putzing around my house moving things around.... I got an email from my school telling me to stay home!!! They are doing the floors and do not want anyone there moving furniture and screwing everything up.... So I happily complied and just went back to bed:)
So as always, I am working my fingers to the bone on my remote finding shows for my 3 readers.... Heres what I have found:

1. Naked and AfraidXL: if you are fan of Naked and Afraid... this show is for you...12 former participants come back to be naked and afraid for 40 days!!!! They are in teams of 2-3 people and eventually, they will have to all meet up and be a team of 12 sharing resources, space, and tools...Ep. 1&2 have this CRAZY girl Honora... sooooooooooo funny!!!!

2. Flip or Flop HGTV on Demand.... Are you sick of "House hunters"??? I'm not sick of it... I am just sick of watching the whole show only to have the person at the end go, " We just moved in like an hour ago..." and you don't see any changes or improvements.... so I found Flip or Flop... this married couple in California flip houses and what is good is you get to see how they stage the house at the end and see how beautiful the house is....

*** Up for contention:
Unreal:  Lifetime on Demand.... I have not watched this show... but I have heard about it for a long time... I plan on checking it out today... I don't care what Chris Harrison says here about UnReal... I am all in....

READ THESE BOOKS:
1.  I read this book in about three days... really good....

2.  this book starts kinda slow, but makes up for it at the end... great book!!!

3.  I am seriously devouring this book!!!! I started it Monday night, last night I had to stop myself from going on because I wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiildly don't want it to end!!! This is the best book I've read since The Girl on the Train.... if you are looking for a great book.. this is it!!!!

More Goodwill...

There are nights usually after I've had like 2 glasses of wine where I think of a blog post... so I have been texting the idea to myself so I dont' forget.... Last night I was watching "Real Housewives of New York" and looking around my little house... as I looked around I thought this house is like an extension of my heart... when you look around, you might not get it, you may think its cluttered, you may think there are too many letters... but one thing you can't deny... it was thoughtfully laid out... Every piece of furniture, knickknack, pillow, blanket, was meant to be there.... 

The house I used to live in was about 5 minutes down the road... that house was a catchers mitt... it caught me when I needed it... We couldn't get a loan approval, we couldn''t stay where we were... Chris was in Louisiana... it was a mess...I needed some place that was good for me to be for a little while... and that was it... I have nothing but gratitude for that house...It didn't have a back yard which was weird... but that house was there when I needed it to be....

the lily black and white.. I have one already, but it was right there at Goodwill... so I'll find another use for it....

My favorite activity... decorating...

Over this summer I have done so much decorating... it is my creative outlet, during the school year I like to go on Teacherspayteachers, look at the creations and try to recreate what I can for free... well some killjoy at my district has put up restrictions so I cannot download any fonts... So I have to use my home laptop to create some docs.... which is a pain because then I have to switch over, blah blah blah... whatever... so I've clicked it over to decorating.... I can't take credit for all of it though.. as you know I stalk  follow  worship   lizmarieblog.com  and I definitely do try hard to recreate anything she does... but the big B in the pic above?? Came from this guy...

 who took me to Hobby Lobby on my birthday and told me "Shoot the WORKS!!!! (as long as it was between 25-35.00)  He picked the B and I LOVE IT!!!

Yesterday I went to 2 different Goodwills... now.. I spent a total of 47.00... got the little lantern with the plant, some clothes, this lamp..

... Goodwill is hooking me UP this month... its my birthday month which means I get 25% off one time purchase... I went on the 15th, got a 10% off coupon, and then got another 25% off coupon to use between the 16th and the 18th... PLUS I got a 5.00 off coupon!!! Membership HAS its benefits!!!! So you know my love of all things Goodwill... Get up and GO!!!!

the stalking continues....

I found this window at Goodwill for 3.99... Some "crafty?" person had put flower stickers on each one of the panes... So I tried to scrape off as much as I could  at Goodwill...

I moved forward... scraped and scraped for 2 days and painted it a grey... this  Devine color from Target... this paint was really great.... it was 4.99 for 8ounces and that was more than enough... I used 2 coats... 

and heres the result.... Yay!! and this inspiration comes from???? where else???

Jealousy.....

Its always around this time of the year that that old feeling comes to me.... jealousy...... I swear I have had this since I was little... people going on vacations, people having parties, people going on excursions... and I always always feel it this time of year... so I usually expect it... but this year its worse... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY worse..... A good friend of mine had a baby a week ago and she is soooooooooooo obvi over the moon...  She has an 8 year old and now this new one...
So it makes me rethink my whole life... was I present enough when my kids were babies? Did I give them enough love and attention??In this day of facebook and easily accessible video and pictures I feel like parents today can document every minute of their babies lives... now that my kids are 21 and 18 (in August) I'm like, " Did they have a good childhood?? Were they ever happy? Did I give them enough?? "  So thats where I'm at... too much time on my hands... too much time to think, to look back, to try try try to remember how much I have and how much I have to be grateful for...I'll get there.... eventually...

Read This Book... Watch this Show.. part 2

This is my first post as a 45 year old woman...#imold....

so over the long holiday weekend (and my birthday #imold) We did alot of movie watching, tv watching, and reading... For some reason, the mosquitos LOVE my hubsband.. watching him try to avert mosquitos is like watching someone having a seizure, mixed with Elaine's dancing  and finally he just goes sprinting at full blast for the nearest shelter.... So when I try to drag him outside, its like going into a militarized zone with live ammunition.... Soooooooooooo... I once again have recommendations....1. Humans
ok... I promised to review this and I have... Very good!! Very creepy, but good... I am excited to see how this show goes...

2.  The Brink on HBO...I watched the first episode of this show last night... I was pleasantly surprised... I really had reservations about this show, but it was really funny... (HBO Sunday)

3. Ray Donovan (Showtime Sunday Night )  Liev Shrieber who is FINE AS HELL is back for season 3... this show is not one I recommend whole heartedly... the reason is the wife.... I dont' know if its her accent or her character, but this character annoys the hell out of me... I'm hoping in season 3 she can get a storyline!!!!

4. Million Dollar Arm:   ok... now I know y'all are going to just think this is because of my  "Mad Men" obsession... actually it was just the opposite.. I had to see Jon Hamm in something other than Don Draper... Watching this movie made me realize... as much as every cell and pore of my body does not want to go to India, I LOVE movies about India... "Slumdog Millionare" is a great movie... India looks like the worst place on Earth in everything I see... I swear I think I could smell how bad it smells just watching the movie... this movie is the same... but this movie was good.. and its by Disney so its semi ok for your kids....


Now for the books... I am smack dab in the middle of Ruby  I picked it because its on Oprah's book club list... its good so far...

So now that the 4th is over, settle in and watch some good TV...

Ok... I have been out there for my three readers scouring the television stations and book stores looking for entertainment..... I have not come back empty handed....I submit to you... the Good.. the Bad.... and the Ugly.....


THE GOOD
1. Sense8... I started this show on a Tuesday night...  I wrangled my hubsband on board and finished it the following Tuesday... This was SUCH a good show!!!!

2. The Chair  (Starz on demand) This is the show started by "Project Greenlight"... its a contest involving two unknown directors given a script and watch how they interpret it.... I have to say.. it really makes filmmaking look horrible... but at the end you get to see both movies and see how they did it differently...

3. Surviviors Guilt (Starz on demand).. Have you ever heard of this show?? Probably not... but this how is really good!!!!! its 30 mins long 6 episodes a season... so minor commitment... Its funny...

4. True Detective .. ok I will be the first to admit... I am watching this show for ONE person...Taylor Kitsch!!!! Look at this FINE MAN... but last week a major thing happened and I am now wildly confused.... but this show is a slow burn....

5. Ballers Sunday Night HBO...This show exceeded my expection .. Dwayne Johnsen makes the show....


Up for Contention:
 HumansSu nday night AMC....  I havent watched this show... but AMC is good with dramams.. I have liked pretty much all of them with the exception of "Turn" and "Halt and Catch Fire"...Review to follow....

The Bad 

I really am not happy to report this, because I"ve been hawking this show for so long... but OINTB
 OINTB was NOT good this season... the reason?? WAY TOO MUCH PIPER!!!!!! She is the worst character...I had to fast forward through her scenes...This season was NOT a good one at all!!!!

Happy ValleyI tried with this show... I watched like 4 episodes and I felt like it was like Nightmare on Elm Street mixed with Scary Movie.... I just stopped...

I am in the middle of the book, " Girl on the Train"
and I think I will finish it today.... this is a really good book!!!


So there you go... let my sitting on my butt all day watching shows be your benefit!!!!!

I had my uterus microwaved......

... and lived to tell about it... Now the technical name for this is endometrial ablation... in case you didn't know... the reason for this was to rid my life of ever having a period again...as my three readers  know... I will be 45 in 4 days... 45 is too old to be getting a period!!!! Its over already!!!But my dr.(imagine a little bit older version of Kelly Kapur with the personality to match) told me it would be probably 3 more years to the natural end of the period... so in an attempt to avoid hormones... I went with this option... Heres what it looks like... the  lining of the uterus is like lasered.... now I had to go in for a biopsy before I went in to make sure all was going well with the uterus... then the procedure was a week later... the dialation was NOT fun... but they did give me the GOOD DRUGS ( aka xanax, valium, and a muscle relaxer) so it felt like 2 labor pains....
Now... back to the reasoning for this... to stop menstuation... there was a little bleeding after ward.. but today is day 5 and I think k I'm done with the bleeding....
So I foolishly went to WebMD after the procedure and there is everything on there from, " It was the greatest experience of my life" to " I've had my period for 3 months".... So I am no OFF Web MD...   So I don't think I am the standard for what this procedure is, but so far so good.... I'll keep you posted...

Proof of Life

GIrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllllll...its been so long since I blogged I figured a proof of life may be in order... here I am channeling my Khaleesi with my Dothraki braids....

I have once again been scouring the internets looking at summer tours... the windows always get me... so when I saw these at goodwill.. JUMPED ON IT... Heres what it looked like before....

 This mirror was here for FAAAAAR too long...

I also tried to Fourth of July up my coffee table... I went to Hobby Lobby and got the little pink bird inside the hurricane lamp... It was a mistake.. they had these red fish that would have gone better... I'll go back tomorrow and fix my mistake...

This is the standard position of most of us in the house most of the time...

And when we're not sleeping we're barking at random people in the street who are trying to enjoy summer.....

This is one of my last posts as a 44 year old!!!!:Your girl Pooka is going to be 45 next Friday (7/3... if you are wondering why all the 3's all over the place)... I'll try to live as much while I'm young:)
