Motivation Saturday...

This week's motivation is purely  self preservation... I have these puppies in my room that I am constantly trying to keep on task and prevent them from distracting my class especially during carpet time.. Last year I had a student that was diagnosed with ADD so I put  some clay in a ziplock  bag and zipped it up.. he would play with it during carpet time to  keep his hands busy... well I tried it with my puppies.. no good.. they broke the bag like 3 times.even when I doubled the bag.. sooooo.. we had to bring out the big guns...the SQUISHIE!!!!!! I went to Party City and bought like 6 of these babies... I told my class that they could buy the squishies with their husky bucks so it looks like a reward and  not a way of targeting my puppies... Friday was a success as I laid out the rules...

1. if you're holding the squishie you can't talk, throw it, or give it someone else...

2. squishies are for carpet time only

3. no putting the squishie in your mouth

 

soooooo... hopefully.. the squishy will keep me sane......

I've been stalking Lindsey over at thepleatedpoppy.com for so long and she has this rug.. so when Target put it on sale for 91.00... I had to nab it.. I'm also using it for my "Look What I Got" over at thetinyheart.blogspot.com

This is probably the best pedicure I have ever had.. not the massage part as they always phone it in...but the actual painting.. I switched it up today and got two different colors...

I got this cuuuute lamp on the right from Salvation Army... 8.00... I love it!!! My girl Allison has

 one like this only  bigger and I have always loved it...

Every day I am trying to send loving messages to my hubsband.. its a new beginning...

 

I know this will sound dysfunctional.. but Jack sent me this on Tuesday.. it looks like hes calling me a bitch. but no.. he just knows my love for "Breaking Bad".....

 

Today is the opening day of NFL football... so heres my acknowledgement...(and of COURSE I have a photo bomber)



Good Morning from me and my three beasts!!

Do you see how ferocious they look... its like a prison yard every morning with these three..its all about the intimidation!!! and the little one to the right.. hes the baddest of the bunch!!!
Do you see the one on the left? Thats Colby.. hes a lab mix puppy.. he is big, clumsy, sweet, and hard to contain... Imagine 5 of him in a classroom with 19 other kids.. thats what my classroom is like... I have 5 boys that are like having lab puppies in the room.. they run, they jump, they sniff everything, they fall on people, they are loud... I feel like I'm trying to keep these puppies off of everything all day..
So yesterday I did myself a favor and went to Party City to get some squishies... these ar for the kids who cannot keep still... I'll let you know how successful I am!!! Wish me luck and have a WONDERFUL Friday my friends!!!

Hey y'all.. its Tuesday... this day was always so special to me growing up.. when I was in school this was always the first day of school.. the Tuesday after Labor Day... I went to a Catholic School and we wore uniforms so this and picture day were the only two days you could wear nice clothes... when you went into the classroom you could just smell the new shoes everyone had... that and the new supplies!!!  I LOVED the first day of school... it was misleading because it was usually only a half day so you could still do stuff... but on this day I always remember my first day of school......

The lengths I have to go to for this blog.. but y'all are worth it!!! hopefully I will take better selfies with this camera... I don't know.. I'm no good at it.. I see other people's and I love them.. but mine? I don't know... We'll see.....

Obligation.....

Obligation overload is a very good description of how I feel lately.... its good to have a blog because sometimes you can just vent.... and this is one of those times.... Around this time every year as I'm sure all of you can attest to... allergies run rampant and reek havoc to your senses and sensibilities.. you feel itchy, achey, tired, worn out... well I am no different... and this weekend they came and tried to push me right to the ground... well I have tried to persevere... so on this I have a hubsband who came home for 3 days... a 16 year old's birthday, and a family party... (the laundry, house, dogs, cleaning, cooking... forget that for a minute) so something's gotta give.. .so I sacrificed the family party... 1. its in Plainfield.... Every time I go to Plainfield I either get into an accident or get a ticket because it consists of two main roads and I can't drive either one of them.. so every time someone says Plainfield  I have like a visceral reaction.... 2. Its going to be like all day... My hubsband and I are trying to reconnect ( see previous posts of anger, resentment and the like) and I want to spend as much one on one time with him as possible...3.  Jack's not going to go and hubsband and son need to spend time together as well.... add allergies and I'm out.... so my family all send me texts that are borderline nasty about me not going... My hubsband says the only one who can make me feel bad about not going is me... I honestly feel obligation overload.. especially around my extended family... and invitation is more like a demand than an invitation... every holiday is a mandatory get together and theres alot of people so if its at your house.. better head out to Costco cuz its gonna be a feast.. So I have to let go of the guilt over my extended family... am I the best sister, daughter, aunt? NO!!! but you know.. theres no award for that... I have to live on my terms.. not what people expect of me... swoosh thats easier said than done!!!

Jack's birthday and Chris is comin home...

There is a Starbucks on my way to work that I stop into  sometimes.. not always.. but the main reason I stop at this one is the cashier.. she always says, "Hi, this is Jen what can I get started for you hon?".. and she says it like I'm about to get on a roller coaster.. you know like, "Hi, welcome to the Demon!!! Have a Great Day here at Six Flags Great America!!"... so this morning I neeeeded Jen's enthusiasm because  it has been a loooooooooooooooong ass week!!! But today is Jack's 16th birthday and hubsband is coming home!! I'm soooooo happy!!! I can see him and we can celebrate together... So I look forward to some lovin and squeezin.... I hope the same for y'all!!! Happy Friday!!!

but I couldn't resist it.. it is SOOOOOOOOOO I love Lucy!!! I wanted to wear it to open house, but we had to wear our school t-shirts so tonight is Curriculum Night... one of the kindergarten teacherss said, " you look like  a real teacher!!!" Is that a compliment??? Have a wonderful Thursday my friends!!!

I was lisening to the radio this moning and the word "selfie" was just added to the dictionary... good thing too.. because it looks like allmy pics are going to be selfies... All black today... whatam I mourning? OUtside recess!!! The weather here has been so hot we can't even go outside!!! So my kids are like...  WHOOO HOO!!!! LETS GET WILD!! Good thing for today..
