Better late than never...

Good... What is it? Evening?? I swear.. I didn't even turn my computer on until 2:00... I got this shelf..

 at Salvation Army yesterday for 12.00 and spent MOST of the day figuring out what to do with it... Isn't it sweet? Here is my little calendar area in my classroom.. Literally ALL from Salvation Army!!! So much storage! 

I got the chair from Goodwill, the pillows, and the little metal table...

 The gals that are on my team were talking about Goodwill and how much I love it... One of the gals goes, "Oh.. Goodwill.. I CAN'T with Goodwill.. I have to draw the line..." Whenever I hear that, I know that this person doesn't know what Goodwill is.. so I asked her, "Have you ever BEEN to a Goodwill?" She goes, "Yeah, to DONATE..."....  I have to laugh... For everyone who doesn't go to Goodwill... thats more stuff  for me... for those who are scared... Goodwill has NEW STUFF from Target, Charming Charlies, Kohls, and Walmart... Yesterday I found a dress from Ross with the tags still on it... I find stuff from H&M all the time with the tags... I am always amazed at people's determination to pay full price for things... well go on ahead... I'll be at Goodwill and Salvation Army paying at least half off for the same stuff!!!

Confessions of a Snorer...

Good Friday Lovelies!!!!! Yay!!! We made it.... and I have had the hardest time getting out of bed this morning!!!! I woke up to snow coming down..... on the 7th day of spring... with 4 more days of March... snow... snow.... snow.... Ok.. snap out of it!!!

I got this nettie pot.. at Target... I used to have this one.. and the first one is WAAAAAYYY better.... 

As my three readers know... I have been a snorer for a long time now... I used to sleep very quietly... then, I started snoring... so I tried all kinds of remedies... pillows, breathe right strips, mouth guards, a device that you put in your nose and pull up your nostrils to make you look like a pig... I tried them ALL.. snore spray, tried it... angled pillow? tried it... NOTHING WORKED!!! Soooooooooo.. I went to the ENT.... he said I had a deviated septum and needed surgery... he said I might as well have my tonsils out too... oh.. this was AFTER the sleep studey I did to see if I had sleep apnea... had everything else.. but not sleep apnea... restless leg? check.... snoring? check... grinding teeth? check... but not sleep apnea... so I got the deviated septum surgery and my tonsils out... NOW I should have been a silent sleeper right??? Notsomuch.. it took about 3 months after surgery for me to start snoring again... louder than before I might add.... My hubsband and I fought so bad because he couldn't sleep!!! My mom was a legendary snorer and I knew how bad it was to sleep when someone is snoring... its horrible..I absolutely sympathized with him, but I had now exhausted my resources in order to become a silent sleeper... so he started sleeping on the couch... Until my daughter went away to school... then he moved into her room..with some minor glitches along the way.. it is now his room... NOW.. would I like to sleep with him?? Sure... I think husbands and wives should sleep together... but it is honestly impossible... we get along sooooooo much better now that we are alseep when we should be asleep..and I do miss him in the bed... but again... its impossible... so I have my big ol' bed all to myself and occasionally... my dog( he wildly doesn't mind the snoring:)... So the lesson in all this? If you snore, and you dont' have sleep apnea... sleep alone or get a dog... Sorry....

Thursday....

Good Morning Lovlies.. Its Thursday... Swoosh has this been a long week... Last night we went and signed Jack up for college...(it sounds like we signed him up for pre school) We went to College of DuPage and enrolled... I am very relieved and happy about this... I also think Jack is happy and relieved too... Everyone talks about going away to college, but hes not ready... I wasnt' ready when I was his age... if only I had stayed at my community college for two years and then gone on to secondary college I would have graduated a year earlier... Casey... shes not like me... she is good on her own...she thrives.... but me? I like to be home... so this is a good thing.. I will have Jack with me for a while longer... that is good... and when hes out of the pressure cooker that high school is, he'll get a better perspective of what he wants to do... Tomorrow is Friday... another five day work week.. and I worked every damn one of 'em!!!

What we're doing during the winter that would never end...

 Good Morning Lovelies... its Tuesday here... its 25 degrees and about 2 inches of snow on the ground... thus explains this granny (yet fashionable) sweater I'm wearing...During the neverending winter, here is what we've been up to...

I went to Goodwill and got this very masculine chest for my hubsband's bedroom.. as my three readers know we have to sleep in separate bedrooms because of my snoring..... so I'm secretly decorating his room without his consent...

I   put my old coffee table seen here 

out on the stoop.. .inside was a ton of my little stuff... so the lady who grabbed it was nice enough to bring it back... the little Happy Easter banner was with it... so lucky me:)

 I found these stools about 3 months ago at a Goodwill by my dads... passed them up.. regretted it daily... so when I found them again..I didn't hesitate!!! 

 On other fronts... namely.. TV... I watched the show I told you about on Friday.. Bloodline.. i am now 6 episodes in... and I give this a BIG thumbs up!!! What you think in episode 2 you wont in episode 6... 

 I know y'all are sick of hearing about Robert Durst... but I swear... "The Jinx"on HBO is fascinating!!!! I think I watched this on "American Justice" back in the day and I know I watched the 48 Hours on it... The Jinx is like Serial meets 48 Hours... I watched the whole thing in one day... I didn't want to stop and eat it was so good!!!

coming up next week is the HBO documentary about Scientology!!! Can't wait!!! 

So if you're still waiting for spring in front of the fireplace like I am... watch these shows.. they'll warm you right up!!!

Five.. Five... Five dollar weeeeeeek...

For the first day of spring we balanced an egg on its bottom.. although Snopes says you can do this any day of the year.. I choose not to believe that and tell my students its science!!!!

I painted and waxed my little table and put it to good use!!

 On St. Patrick's Day we had a leprechaun hunt... we never found him... but we did find his gold!!!! (if you want my leprechaun hunt.. just leave me a message:)

Its been a five day work week and I worked EVERY DAMN ONE OF 'EM!!!!!

I went to Goodwill and went to the mat for this great little cabinet which fits very nicely in my little laundry closet...

I haven't had five events like this in a week... but with St.Patrick's Day and spring in one week.. swoosh!!! Lots of pics!!!

A list of things to do..

Yay... its Thursday... Thursday is the word that means: you can reward yourself... you worked almost all week!!!!

My spring break is about 100 years away (aka April 3) and as I look around my house I see all the things to do during spring break...

1. Do my taxes... this is a must obvi...

2. Clean my room!! I know.. it sounds like I'm 5, but I have to do it.. I have to get rid of clothes, shoes, accessories...

3. do my laundry... I mean REALLY do it... like KILL the laundry monster... I will defeat you!!!!

4. sleep late every day (this will be a suuuuuuuuper easy one!!!)

5. Go out to dinner with my hubsband... Heres the thing with that... if you even attempt to go out on a Friday or Saturday between the hours of 5:30-8:30... hahahahahahahahahaha you're NOT getting a table... don't even try..... unless you're at IHOP.. then you can be seated right away!!! so if we go out on like a Tuesday, we can sit, have drinks, eat, talk, flirt... we'll pretend its Friday...

So thats my list...

on another topic.... I found this new show on Netflix which starts tomorrow... Bloodline...lets sell it....

Do you like Kyle Chandler? Do you like Sam Shepard? Do you like Linda Cardellini (from Mad Men????) yes??? Well you will LOVE this show.. its got kindof  "The Affair" vibe to it when I saw the trailer... I am ALL  IN!!!!

I have been watching the new season of "House of Cards"... ughgh... nothing is happening!!! I miss the dynamic between Doug and Frank... I don't know if I can go all the way.... I was so bored....

I go to Hobby Lobby... where I walk around, look at all the pretty things and listen to the soothing music... so yesterday I picked up this little mirror because my guru Liz from lizmarieblog.com showed this one(the little one in the corner) and I found that one, but I decided on the heart one.. (cheaper)

Coffee table progress...

ok... table progress....I sanded the edges and distressed it slightly...Last night I also put wax on the top... I'm hoping to put it here

to replace the existing table... I'll keep you posted..

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Happy St.Patrick's Day Gorgeous!!! I dont' know about you.. but where I come from (channel the Wizard of  Oz here) St. Patricks Day is ALWAYS cold and miserable.. and today is no exception... I think on St. Patrick's Day you're supposed to think about the Irish ancestors of old and feel their pain....

I remember the St. Patrick's Day of 1994... this one was horrible.. I told my parents I was pregnant with Casey.. ( I wasn't like, you know.. married..) it was sooooooooooo bad.. if there was ONE day in my life I could not relive.. it would be that one...

Now you're all out there saying,"Oh my Gosh.. thats awful!! the day you announce you're pregnant should be so happy!!".. I COMPLETELY agree!!! It should have been happy.. I was happy..but it was different for my parents.. but from that day on... Casey has been announced to the world!!! and for that I am grateful!!!! 

Happy St. Patrick's Day wherever you are!!! 

Ya Gotta fight for it....

Good Morning Lovelies!!! Its Monday.. usually a sucky day.. but not today... My evaluation is OVER!!! YAY!!!! You know I talked and talked about this til y'all were ready to abandon your girl... Well... if I talked to YOU endlessly about my eval.. imagine how much Jack (seen here)has heard about it... so he tells me, "If you don't get exceeds, I wont' respect you..".. now.. he said this in jest.. however.. there is an air of truth to it... if I think I am worth an exceeds he must believe it too... so I have to do everything I can do to be excellent.. and if I dont' get the excellent.. I have to fight for it.. so I did... I got three exceeds and one proficient.. that would be fine.. but then I remembered what he said.. I had to fight for me.. and for the respect of my son... so I fought for the final exceeds and got it... I'm worth it... I have worked my ASS off... and I will continue to do so... I'm worth the final exceeds... and I proved it...

Now that my eval is over.. I can focus on some other adventures.. like this table...

 Remember that table ( seen here)that you can barely see... I painted it black... now..we are going to try to distress it a little...wish me luck...

I got this little unit at Goodwill for 9.99!!! WHAT??? I had to go fisticuffs for it... it was like a feeding frenzy!!! The guy who put it in my car had to fight people away!!!
